  • A few years ago, my daughter in law's sister asked me to write a book for her daughter, Molly. When our children were younger, and asked for bedtime stories, I used to make stories up with my children as the characters. They would always ask for more , loving to hear about themselves solving problems, or being brave or funny. So, I thought Molly might like the same touch, and set to it. I thought it would be interesting to make her the central character, and to include other members of her family.

"Molly and the BIG scream!" is about a girl who lives with her two brothers near a castle. Her brothers tease her a lot, thinking they are stronger and braver than her. Molly has a friend in the castle, Princess Lala, who , like Molly, loves animals of all kinds. One day Molly and her brothers visit Princess Lala, and something dreadful happens...but will it be Molly or one of her brothers that save the day?

If you like the idea of this book, I can rewrite it just for you! I would not just simply replace the story with your child's name, but add lots of other details such as siblings, friends, locations and anything else you would like included. Perhaps you could send drawings or images. it is completely customisable.

So how does it work ? First think about who you would like to be in the book...relatives/friends/pets etc. Also think about images, and if you would like to send them to me to be included. They can be photos or drawings.Email me with any information that you think is relavant. I will reply within 2 days. We then start a chat about the book and the contents. When we are both happy, I will write it. It should take about 3 - 4 weeks in from agreement (and payment) to publication for your totally unique book to arrive. The price is 15-£20, depending on what images you would like to use, and whether you would like full colour. for your copy. I will then upload it to a website where further copies can be bought for under £5.
Below is an excerpt from the book.

That afternoon Princess Lala went upstairs to fetch a storybook. Soon the children heard the loudest scream you have ever heard in your life!
THE SCREAM seemed to fill the house and bounce around the walls. THE SCREAM seemed to burst through the roof and up into the sky, it was so loud and sharp.
“What is wrong With Princess Lala ?” Molly-Anne asked, very worried.
“I will go and have a look, because I am brave and fearless “ Xander said. Xander ran upstairs as fast as he could go with a thud thud thud. Soon he was back, running towards the door.
“Do not go up there, do not go up there” he shouted, and ran outside, slamming the door behind him. “Oh dear” said Molly-Anne, ” Whatever shall we do?”
“I will go and have a look, because I am brave and fearless “ Jo-Jo said, and ran upstairs as fast as he could go with a thud thud thud. Soon he was back, running towards the door.
“Do not go up there, do not go up there” he shouted, and he, too, ran outside, slamming the door behind him.
Molly-Anne was worried about Princess Lala and did not want to leave her alone.
“I will go upstairs” Molly-Anne said “I am not afraid. So Molly-Anne walked slowly upstairs.
Princess Lala’s door was open, and she was standing on top of her bed pointing....
